What Does an Appraiser Do?

An appraiser will determine the value of your real estate by examining the interior and exterior of the property, evaluating amenities, in addition to health and safety code compliance.  Your lender will typically decide who the appraiser will be as it is in their best interest to get the most accurate value for the property.


What is a 1031 Exchange?

In a forward § 1031 Exchange, a property owner sells one property and exchanges it for another, deferring the capital gain from the sale until the property for which it was exchanged is eventually sold. In order for an exchange to be completely tax deferred, all of the property owner’s equity must be used in the acquisition of the replacement property.
